How many guests can the beach house sleep?

The beach house has three holiday apartments, each with 2 bedrooms and 4 regular sleeping places; with the sofa bed, each apartment sleeps up to 6. Including the sofa beds and an extra bed, the whole house sleeps up to 19. It is ideal for couples, small families or groups of friends who want to enjoy peace and nature.

Can the beach house be booked all year round?

Yes, the beach house is available all year round and has effective heating. So you can enjoy a relaxing stay in nature in both summer and winter.

Is there a kitchen in the beach house?

A fully equipped kitchen is available in the beach house. It contains everything you need for self-catering – from a hob and fridge to crockery and a coffee machine.

Does the beach house have WLAN and Internet reception?

Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the beach house. Mobile phone reception is also generally stable, so you can easily stay online if necessary.

Is there a pool?

There is no private pool. The public forest swimming pool (Waldfreibad) is about 100 m from the beach house, and the house has a garden with a sandy beach on the River Alb.

Is the beach house low-barrier?

The two ground-floor apartments, Die Eins and Die Zwei, are low-barrier (not fully wheelchair accessible) and have step-free access. Die Zwei has a more spacious layout, so you can also move around with a walking aid or wheelchair.

The apartment Die Drei is on the first floor and can only be reached by stairs. If you have any special requirements, please contact us in advance.

Can I bring my pet to the beach house?

Yes, dogs are welcome at the Strandhaus. There is an additional charge for your four-legged companion so that you can enjoy nature together with your pet.

Is there direct access to nature or water?

From the beach house, you can reach a small natural beach by the river via a private meadow path. The surrounding area invites you to relax, go for a walk or splash around.

What equipment does the terrace of the beach house have?

The terrace of the beach house is furnished with comfortable seating and a table. It invites you to linger and offers a wonderful view of the valley

Where are the beach house and the deck houses located?

The beach house is at Schwimmbadstraße 27, the deck houses are at Buckelweg 88, both in 76332 Bad Herrenalb. The two locations are about 4 km apart.

Can I also travel by public transportation?

Yes, it is easy to get here by public transport. From Karlsruhe main station, you can reach Bad Herrenalb station in around 40 minutes by train. From there, an hourly bus or a scheduled cab service will take you comfortably to Obere Gaistal. The nearest bus stop is just a five-minute walk from our deckhouses.

Are there parking spaces at the deckhouses?

Yes, there are plenty of parking spaces available for our guests directly at the deckhouses. Arriving by car is therefore no problem, even for longer stays or with a lot of luggage.

Is there a playground nearby?

Yes, there is a well-maintained public playground about 300 meters away. It is located on the valley-side meadow path to the west and is easily accessible on foot – ideal for families with children.

Are dogs allowed in the accommodation?

Yes, dogs are welcome here. You are welcome to bring your dog with you. Please note that we charge a flat pet fee; the current amount is shown on the booking page. We look forward to your visit with your four-legged companion!

How many guests can the deck houses sleep?

Each of the three deck houses regularly sleeps 5 in two bedrooms; in addition, 2 can sleep on the living-room sofa, 7 per house in total. All three houses together sleep up to 21. The houses can be booked individually or together.

How much does a night cost?

An apartment in the beach house costs from €120 per night, a deck house from €150 per night, each for up to 4 guests. In addition there is a final cleaning and utilities fee and the visitor’s tax. All current prices, fees and minimum stays are shown on the booking page.

Is there a minimum stay?

The minimum stay is two nights during the week and three nights at weekends. For early bookings the minimum stay may be longer. Arrivals are possible from Monday to Saturday.

When are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is usually from 5 pm, check-out by 10 am. This applies to the beach house and the deck houses. If you book directly, flexible arrival and departure times are possible by arrangement.

Is there a hygienic shower in the vacation homes?

Yes, there is a modern hygienic shower (also known as a bidet shower) in every bathroom in the deck houses. For extra comfort and hygiene during your stay.

Is there a sauna at the deckhouses

Yes, there is a cozy barrel sauna with panoramic window and outdoor shower – perfect for relaxing with a view of nature.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Yes, the bed is freshly made for every guest. There are large and small towels available – everything is ready on arrival.

Is there a barbecue area or barbecue facilities?

Yes, there is a barbecue area with a gas barbecue and a fantastic view. Right next to it is a small scullery with extra dishes

Can the whole house or all houses be booked together?

Yes. The whole beach house is available from €329 per night (price includes 12 guests; the house sleeps up to 19), all three deck houses from €429 per night (price includes 12 guests; the three houses sleep up to 21). The beach house and the deck houses together cost from €750 per night (price includes 24 guests; together they sleep up to 40), for example for groups, retreats or company events.

How far is it to Karlsruhe?

Karlsruhe main station is 26 km away, the Bad Herrenalb S-Bahn station 2 km. By car it is 23 km to the A5 motorway, exit Ettlingen/Bad Herrenalb.

How much does a stay with a dog cost?

We charge a flat pet fee; the current amount is shown on the booking page. A maximum of two pets is allowed per unit.

Are a cot and a high chair available?

Yes. A cot and a high chair are available free of charge in all apartments and houses.
